Tales from the Hip TrackBuster Pt25 – Lord Liar Boots
Written by Prim on 13/07/2024
Tales from the Hip is a book of murder and innocence, set in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.
TrackBuster is an original tune fit for this part of the book’s serialisation, chosen from band’s around the world – this week’s TrackBuster…
I love Lord Liar Boots… crikey, this font’s big… Times New Roman 14, vroom down a peg to calibre 11, low key, or as I now think about it, it doesn’t matter because I’m penning this offline, with a view of a distant tree on a hill on my lunch break, I hasten to add, and when I come to paste onto the website, it will revert to its own automatic text font, which I have no idea is, and no-one will care, let alone think about who Lord Liar Boots are…
…argh yes, Lord Liar Boots, an awesome band from Bangkok. I did a bit of web surfing back in 2017 for up-n-coming dudes on the Thai Inde music scene. I was looking for a headliner for a festival I was putting on, and came across these, invited them down, and Bob was your uncle, Fanny your aunt, and being Thailand, both at the same time – I was… blown away.
Pre gig the boy’s played footie on the paddock with a bunch of kids waiting for shit to happen. They drank piss, joined in the festival who-ha and shopped for second-hand clothes from a pop-up shop on site buying up some nice casual floral and formal dresses, wore them for the gig and absolutely smashed it. I love this band. There were other Thai bands that gig, I’ll get to reminiscing over them in the serialisation of this book Tales from the Hip – in which Lord Liar Boots are this week’s TrackBuster for this Pt25, with Bullshit.
There, I hope that’s tantalisingly ambiguous in it’s brief. Suffice to say, I lend myself 15 minutes a week to intro the band for the TrackBuster, and to plug the serialisation of my book, Tales from the Hip – which I’d be real keen you considered purchasing, either as a paid subscriber to Substack or as a one-off super deal by purchasing direct from me at £10.00 – the weekly podcast, plus a copy of the book on completion (*), which I feel is coming soon.
Now, just like these posts, which are a gambit to boost the book and the TrackBusting band, I never re-edit the content, you get what you get, the only editing is on the book itself and I can guarantee, the book is pretty grippingly good, with murder, intrigue and a hot bird called Megs, plus, the soundtrack is awesome and original… try it, you might like it.
