Tales from the Hip Pt32 TrackBuster – Jonny Ray & the Wasters

This TrackBuster is dedicated to Jason Winder – simple as that.

Jason was a formidable force on Phuket, DJing on a local radio station and interviewing the island’s and sometimes world’s celebs with aplomb. But his biggest passion was music and playing with these fellas, Jonny Ray and the Wasters. He couldn’t often wait to get home and play the festival scene and be the muso on the road… a true free spirit, his happy place.

Boy could play the guitar too.

He was taken from us way too soon, and the irony isn’t lost when he didn’t wake up one morning in his tent in of all places Glastonbury.

He was a good pal in Phuket. He stemmed literally from down the road where we live now and where my missus grew up – it’s a small world eh, why not play it.

Here’s to you Jason – and before I forget, these are an awesome band and this a very apt track for this weeks Tales from the Hip Pt32
